This meeting marked a substantial ramp-up to earlier agreements on investment cooperation between the two countries.

The Jordanian Minister of Investment, Mr. Kholoud Saqqaf, underscored the ample investment opportunities available within the Jordanian landscape and emphasized the robust bilateral relations shared between Jordan and Cyprus, as well as the commitment of the Ministry to facilitate Cypriot enterprises in Jordan, all the while engaging in knowledge exchange with the Cypriot Investment Promotion Agency.

In addition, pivotal initiatives were introduced, such as the establishment of the “Invest in Jordan” platform, the enactment of legislation governing the investment sector, and the adoption of the investment promotion strategy spanning from 2023 to 2026. Furthermore, the Ministry has unveiled a comprehensive investment service platform, featuring automation of 95 services linked to licensing and various economic activities.

The opportunities for Cypriot firms and investors to enter the Jordanian market and vice versa are apparent, especially given the shared interested of the two economies in sectors such as information technology, healthcare, tourism, medical tourism, agriculture, food industries, and public-private partnership projects.

The Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency, articulated the agency’s dual focus on attracting foreign direct investment and supporting existing investors in expanding their ventures within Cyprus. This evolving collaboration holds significant promise for both Cyprus and Jordan, with potential implications extending across various sectors.
